A Residence at the ArraBelle at Vail Square - Vail, CO
NAKA Designs, LLC was commissioned to continue the work begun by its founders (as members of 4240 Architecture, Inc.) in the design of this Vail landmark and through the interior design of one of the condominiums at the ArraBelle. The work included the custom design of furniture, fabrics and light fixtures for a residence on the 5th floor of the building that the NAKA founders originally designed for Vail Resorts Development Company. The owners of the unit are busy Chicago doctors whose love of Colorado is reflected in their choice of the ArraBelle as their vacation home and whose energy and enthusiasm was the basis for the dramatic direction and freshness of the condominium interior. While based upon the light, color and tradition of the Rocky Mountain West, the elements were dramatically re-considered, updated and re-interpreted to produce a contemporary reflection of the owner's urban lifestyle. Bright fabrics, bold furnishings, a rich palette, contemporary western art, elegant textural lighting and no fear for color were all brought together into what has since become one of the ArraBelle's most discussed and most-often requested (within the voluntary rental pool) units.
